How Much Does Luxury Rehab Cost?

The published luxury residential planning benchmark is $30,000 to $100,000 for 30 days. Selected high-price packages in Malibu and Los Angeles run $100,000 to more than $200,000 a month, but a small shared house and a single-client program are different arrangements. The Zurich single-client examples below list CHF 110,000 and CHF 117,300 a week; Thailand's luxury planning range is $12,000 to $20,000 a month. The price follows the property, the census, and the staffing, not the clinical method.

Luxury rehab prices by location

Luxury rehab in Malibu: $38,000 to $100,000 and up

Malibu is the market people picture when they search for luxury rehab. Published 2026 rates at the established estates run $53,000 a month for a shared room and about $80,000 for a private room; the mid-tier programs on the canyon side of the Pacific Coast Highway start at $38,000 to $48,000; and one published Malibu example lists $90,000 for a 30-plus-day stay in a shared program with individual and group treatment. Several Malibu programs treat 20 to 30 clients across multiple properties at the same $80,000 price a six-guest house charges, which is the reason to ask about census before anything else.

Luxury rehab in Southern California: $30,000 to $90,000

Published luxury rehab rates across California range from $30,000 to $90,000, with most boutique programs between $40,000 and $70,000. Orange County's coast (Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Dana Point) and San Diego's north county (Rancho Santa Fe, Del Mar) price toward the upper half of that band; inland Southern California (Palm Springs, Temecula, Ojai) toward the lower half.

Luxury rehab in Florida: $35,000 to $80,000

South Florida: Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Naples, and Miami host beachfront and executive programs at $35,000 to $45,000 for premium residential care and $60,000 to $80,000 at the top. Mid-tier programs in Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville run $25,000 to $35,000. Florida has a range of step-down and sober-living options. A 90-day plan that moves to less intensive care can cost less than 90 days at a residential rate; compare the services and dates in the actual proposal.

Luxury rehab in Arizona: $40,000 to $75,000

Tucson and Wickenburg are home to the country's best-known destination programs for trauma and co-occurring conditions, published at $40,000 to $75,000 for 30 days and $44,000 to $60,000 for five-week signature programs. Scottsdale and Sedona add boutique and executive programs at $30,000 to $60,000.

Luxury rehab in Utah: $30,000 to $60,000

Sundance, Park City, and the Wasatch mountains host lodge-style programs at roughly $1,000 to $2,000 a day. The mountain setting can suit people who want outdoor programming rather than a beach; compare the staffing and clinical hours included in the quote.

Luxury rehab elsewhere in the US

Colorado, Texas, the Northeast, and Hawaii have luxury-tier programs but do not publish rates the way California, Arizona, and Florida do. Expect them to price within the national luxury band of $30,000 to $100,000, with a few private estates above it, and compare them on census and licensed clinical hours rather than on the number alone.

Luxury rehab in Switzerland: CHF 70,000 a month to CHF 117,300 a week

Swiss programs publish the highest fees on this page, with fees quoted for the individual stay. Published 2026 bands: premium residential placement from about CHF 70,000 a month; alpine clinics around CHF 45,000 a week; Zurich's single-client examples, where Paracelsus Recovery lists CHF 110,000 a week and the Kusnacht Practice starts at CHF 117,300 a week (CHF 440,000 and CHF 469,200 respectively for four weeks); and a single one-client clinic at CHF 320,000 to 500,000 a month. Fees include treatment, villa, staff, and meals. Paracelsus Recovery lists a four-week residential programme. Check any international benefits directly with the insurer before relying on reimbursement.

Luxury rehab in Thailand: $12,000 to $20,000 a month

Chiang Mai and Phuket offer resort-style programs with private villas, on-site nursing, and hospital partnerships at $12,000 to $20,000 a month, below some of the California examples on this page, with the actual savings depending on the program and included services. Standard Thai programs run $8,000 to $12,000. The trade-offs are distance, a foreign medical system for anything the program cannot handle, and the continuing-care handoff home.

Luxury rehab in Bali, Mexico, Spain, and Portugal

These markets do not publish rates consistently enough to state a range. In their published material, Bali prices near Thailand, Mexico between Thailand and the US standard tier, and the Spanish and Portuguese coasts near the US boutique tier, with a few single-client villas priced like Switzerland. Get a written quote for a stated period and compare it on the same lines as a US quote.

Examples of high published rehab fees

Published price examples at the top of the market:

  1. Zurich single-client examples: Paracelsus Recovery lists CHF 110,000 a week and the Kusnacht Practice starts at CHF 117,300 a week. Four weeks at those starting rates calculates to CHF 440,000 and CHF 469,200 respectively, before any separately charged services.
  2. A one-client-only clinic in Zurich: CHF 320,000 to 500,000 a month.
  3. Estate programs in Malibu with private rooms: $80,000 to $100,000.
  4. Top Arizona destination programs: $60,000 to $75,000.

Among the Malibu and Los Angeles programs assessed, phone quotes at the upper end have been $100,000 to $200,000 a month, without a published rate.

At these prices, confirm whether the residence and clinical team are reserved for one person or shared. The one-on-one rehab cost guide explains how to compare those arrangements.

What luxury rehab prices include, and what they don't

A higher quote does not establish a fuller clinical schedule. Compare the written individual-therapy appointments and the medical and psychiatric contact at each program, including frequency, duration, and who provides them. A practitioner being on staff or on call does not tell you how much time you will actually spend with them.

Included at nearly every luxury program: the residence, meals, housekeeping, the core clinical schedule, activities, and basic medical monitoring. Usually included at the top tier: private suite, on-site nursing, chef, driver, spa and fitness, and concierge services.

Usually billed separately, at every tier: medical detox when it happens in a hospital or a separate facility, psychiatric evaluation, laboratory work and drug testing, medication, outside specialists, family sessions in some programs, and continuing care after discharge. Extensions are billed at a daily or weekly rate, and refund terms for early departure range from generous to none.

Compare accommodation and amenities alongside licensed clinical hours by role, medical support and the number of clients. Ask for an itemized quote to see what is included. The calculator below compares the total fee with estimated clinical services value, and the private rehab cost guide shows how to lay two quotes on the same lines.

What you should get at each price

$30,000 to $60,000 a month. A private or semi-private room in a boutique program of 6 to 20 clients, two to four individual sessions a week, small groups, a good setting, chef-prepared food, medical detox arranged nearby, and some out-of-network insurance reimbursement.

$60,000 to $100,000 a month. An estate or beachfront property, a private suite, on-site nursing, concierge services, and anywhere from two individual sessions a week to one a day at the same price; a census that should be under 12 and is sometimes 30.

$100,000 to $200,000 a month. A high-price proposal may describe a residence with one to six clients, a clinical team scheduled around the person, and direct physician and psychiatrist involvement. Confirm which services and staff are reserved for one client. One-client care has no in-house therapy groups; a small shared residence may still require groups. Ask how discretion works in practice, including unmarked vehicles, neutral phone answering, and staff who do not use names in public.

Above $200,000 a month. Switzerland: single-client villas, multilingual teams, and Swiss medical privacy law.

If a quote and its schedule do not match the tier, the schedule is the truth.

Does luxury rehab take insurance?

Sometimes, for part of it. Ask which claims the program will submit, which provider bills each service, and what balance you would pay.

Insurance acceptance does not settle what you will owe. Establish the covered residential benefit first, then identify the additional charges for the private suite, amenities, and dedicated staffing. Get the program’s estimate of your share in writing before paying a deposit.

PPO plans with out-of-network benefits can reimburse a percentage of the plan's allowed amount for medically necessary residential care, which is often far below the program's charge. HMO plans generally do not cover out-of-network care except in an emergency. Ask the insurer which accommodation, amenities, dedicated-staffing, or hospitality charges are excluded. For overseas and single-client programs, confirm whether the proposed services qualify for benefits under your plan and which charges you would pay privately. The insurance guide shows how to verify a specific proposal.

How much does 60 or 90 days of luxury rehab cost?

Roughly twice and three times the monthly rate; some programs discount extended stays modestly and some do not, so ask for the 60- and 90-day figures in writing rather than multiplying. Some programs recommend 60 days as a minimum, and NIDA's research summary is that at least three months in treatment, across levels of care, is associated with meaningful change. Those months do not all have to be at luxury prices: a common plan is 30 to 45 days residential followed by outpatient care at a fraction of the cost.

Luxury rehab vs private rehab vs one-on-one rehab

Luxury describes the setting; private describes who owns it, who pays, or where you sleep; one-on-one describes the schedule. A program can combine these features. Most luxury programs are group programs in beautiful houses; single-client care is a different arrangement. A private room in a luxury program does not change who is in your therapy group. Get the individual and shared parts of your schedule confirmed in writing. Private rehab vs luxury rehab separates the first two; what is one-on-one rehab defines the third; luxury rehab explains what the setting includes and how to judge one.

Common questions about luxury rehab cost

Is luxury rehab worth it?

Judge it by the clinical care you will actually receive. A high fee and an impressive staff list do not establish a robust treatment schedule. Get the individual therapy, medical visits, and psychiatric appointments set out in writing: who provides each, how often, and for how long. If the higher fee buys a better residence and the same clinical schedule, the extra money is buying accommodation. Know that before deciding.

How much is rehab in Malibu?

Quotes for Malibu luxury rehab run about $30,000 to $200,000 for 30 days in the programs assessed. Rates are often unpublished, and quotes are negotiable. Publishing a rate gives competing programs a number to undercut. The published examples on this page are listed with source and date. Ask what changes if the price comes down, and keep the written clinical schedule alongside the quote so you can see whether the offer still includes the same care.

What is the most expensive rehab in the world?

Among the high published fees in Zurich, Paracelsus Recovery lists CHF 110,000 a week and the Kusnacht Practice starts at CHF 117,300 a week. Four weeks at those starting rates calculates to CHF 440,000 and CHF 469,200 respectively. These are named examples, not an exhaustive worldwide ranking.

How much does celebrity rehab cost?

A celebrity association does not tell you the price or the treatment schedule. Compare the quoted fee with the luxury prices on this page and get the clinical schedule in writing. If you want to avoid other clients entirely, you need a confirmed single-client arrangement; a high price or famous address does not establish that.

Does luxury rehab have better outcomes?

Amenities and setting do not establish treatment quality. The clinical questions are whether there is enough treatment at the right level of care, medication where it applies, and continuing care. A luxury program's written schedule and discharge plan should show how it delivers those parts alongside the amenities.

How much does luxury detox cost?

A published estimate for luxury or boutique residential detox in the Los Angeles area is $1,000 to $2,000 or more a day before insurance. At those rates, seven days would cost about $7,000 to $14,000 or more; medical needs determine the actual length. Ask whether the fee includes the room, monitoring, withdrawal medication, tests, and psychiatric visits, and whether detox is included in a residential package or charged separately. A subsequent 30-day luxury rehab stay has a broader planning range of $30,000 to $100,000, with some programs charging more.

How these figures were compiled

Every figure on this page comes from rates published by programs, treatment directories, or regional cost guides for Malibu, Los Angeles, California, Utah, Arizona, Florida, Switzerland, and Thailand, checked . Markets that do not publish rates consistently are described by tier rather than given a number.
